Available Retired & Returned
Adult German Shepherds

Meet our retired and returned German Shepherds, wonderful dogs searching for their forever homes to enjoy love, comfort, and happiness in the next chapter of their lives.

We understand that life can bring unexpected changes, and we’re here to support our community through those moments. If you're unable to care for your Audax German Shepherd, we kindly ask that you return them to us. Rest assured, each dog will always have a loving home here—unless a perfect, loving new situation arises.

We also have retired German Shepherds who have been cherished members of our home and family. When they reach retirement, we’re open to finding lifelong, loving homes for certain dogs if the right match comes along. Our highest priority is the happiness, health, and well-being of each dog. We take great care to match these special dogs with homes where they can enjoy a happy, fulfilling life—bringing joy and passion in their well-deserved years of retirement.

Meet Hans—an exuberant, joyful German Shepherd with a perpetual smile and a heart full of love. Always eager for affection and a job. He loves to work, loves to challenged and would be an excellent sport prospect.

Hans aka Obi has had a rough go of it. At about 8 months old, his original owner had pregnancy complications putting her on bed rest and asked us to take him back. Obi was confident, outgoing, fun loving adolescent who thought the world was his playground.

Obi spent time with us and then lived with one of our amazing and talented trainers and her 2 dogs while he received much of his foundational obedience training. During this time, Obi traveled everywhere with her including hiking, skiing, and more. It was a fabulous experience for him to see so much. It solidified his love for car rides!

Obi was then placed in home out of state. When her living situation changed, she contacted me and I drove and picked him up and brought him back to our home. Obi has been back with us since May of 2024. Kim has been loving training and working with him. He is an extremely active, athletic and powerful dog. He such an intelligent and motivated dog and thus requires and experienced handler who will not be manipulated easily.

We are looking for a local individual or family that would be willing to partner with us and be mentored by us to learn how Obi has been trained, continue consistent training with him and provide him with a loving active home. Obi will thrive in a home with accountability and fairness.

Obi's temperament is so excellent, that when he went to our vet for his annual wellness exam this summer, he climbed in our veterinarian's lap for loves and scratches. He is a very affectionate dog. Our vet was so impressed with his temperament and overall appearance that he asked if we would be using him for breeding.

Hans is looking for a dedicated home that understands his drive and spirit, and can provide him with the structure and love he needs to thrive.

Enola vom Haus Audax

MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

DOB: July 1, 2021

Sire: Benedict vom Frankengold, V, IPO 2, AK (D)
       HD/ ED: Normal, DM: Clear

Dam: Bathilda vom Haus Audax, BH-VT

HD: OFA Good, ED: OFA Normal, DM: Clear

Enola was our special pick female from our E Litter. Sadly she has had a rough life and been through too many homes. At a year of age, her first owner returned her stating that he did not have an emotional connection with her. Hearing this broke our hearts. We immediately said, please bring her back. She was back with us that same day.

After a few months of living with us again, we placed her with one of our trainers. Unfortunately, when we parted ways, we lost track of Enola for about a year. We were ecstatic when Snohomish Animal Station reached out to us looking for records on her. We do not know how everything came to be, though we have bits and pieces.

An amazing family "bought" her off of someone on the Nextdoor app. When they went out to meet her this summer, they found a severely malnourished German Shepherd, kept in a tiny crate that was far too small for her. She had muscle atrophy and visible signs of the neglect she had suffered. Yet, this brave family refused to give up. They showered her with love, got her the veterinary care she needed, and slowly helped her regain her weight and strength.

Though they wished they could keep her forever, Enola was still a lot of dog, and her new family—an older gentleman—knew she was too much for their household at this time. Their love and care for her were unwavering, and in the process of caring for her, thanks to her microchip, Enola found her way back to us.

Her story is one of resilience, hope, and the kindness of a family that saw her true worth. And now, with her past behind her and her future ahead, Enola is surrounded by love and support—ready to continue her journey toward a happy, fulfilling life.

Enola is the sweetest, most loving and affectionate dog you will find.

  • We know she has been attacked by other dogs and does not trust other dogs. She is currently working well around other dogs but will be happiest in a single dog home.

  • We know she has had significant play time with a laser pointer. She has improved greatly but can still be triggered by shadows.

  • She has gained back all of her weight and is in the process of rebuilding muscle.

  • She gets a bit zoomie when she feels pressured.

  • Some of her play signals are backwards, giving the impression she was not well socialized when she went to her first home.

  • She loves my teenagers. When I can't find my oldest, he is often sitting with her curled up in his arms.

We are looking for a quiet and understanding home that will love a sweet, playful, gentle lady who deserves to be spoiled and well loved. We are offering a mentorship program with her to train along side of us to help empower you both to live your best life together.
